The Count of Monte Cristo is a 2002 action/adventure film about the life of Edmond Dantès, a Frenchman falsely accused of collaborating with an exiled Napoleon Bonaparte and sent off to prison in the infamous Chateau d'If, where he concocts a plan to seek revenge on those responsible.
